Where have all the cowboys gone?

Right off the bat here I will let everyone know that the site, Where's Parker, is dedicated to the education leading to changing the laws in this country in regards to dog fighting, puppy mills, and all other forms of animal abuse which also includes the rounding up and genocide of feral cats and the blind eye toward education about the importance of spaying and neutering. . . . . Having witnessed court cases, I am sickened, disgusted, and angered at the lack of morality in this inept judicial system, and the apathy of all those associated with it.

Jason Allen Williams also was ordered to pay $2,359 in restitution, placed on two years probation and cannot own animals without supervision during his probation.ALLEGAN -- A 23-year-old Grandville man who once worked for a dog day care center was sentenced today to 45 days in jail for trying to kill his dog by feeding it anti-freeze and beating the animal while it hung from its leash.

Williams was arrested in November after a neighbor of his residence, then in Dorr Township, saw him beating the dog while it hung from its leash over a tree branch.

Williams' attorney, Craig Haehnel, blamed his client's behavior in part on psychological problems that put Williams in a mental facility for a short period before the November beating. Williams was supposed to be on medication, he said, but had stopped taking it.

Chance's new adoptive owner spoke briefly before Allegan County Circuit Judge George Corsiglia.Several supporters of Wishbone Pet Rescue, which nursed the dog back to health and renamed him Chance, were in court today to watch the sentence.

"People like you cannot do this to dogs. You cannot do this to any animal," he said, only revealing his first name, Brian, in court.

Prosecutors and Wishbone officials say Williams once worked as a trainer at a dog camp.

Williams apologized today, saying he had no justification for what he did.

"I truly did love that dog, even though my actions didn't show it," he said. "There is not a moment that goes by that my life has not been filled with shame and regret."

Do I REALLY have to AGAIN add MY comment to this inexcusable behavior? AND AGAIN my outrage at a ridiculously absurd and pitiful sentence of 45 days? If this had been a child would he be getting out in 45 days? . . . Well, maybe so. After all our justice system HAS been turned over to the loop hole finding public defenders and defense attorneys who don't care about how many victims there are, but only how clever they themselves can be.

Oh, and OF COURSE homage must be given to those Judges without balls who use their "discretion" to allow these criminals back out to destroy more lives.
